Things to Do
Welcome to Winter…..Spring
Our Tahoe Winter Usually Runs into Spring!!!
Being a mountain destination, winter is one of the highly anticipated seasons as we eagerly await the next snowfall to build that snow base and whiten the mountains. Lake Tahoe has even the simplest of snow fun options with snowball fights, building a snowman and finding the perfect sledding hill.
Come experience Tahoe during the winter and see how much fun it can be. We highly recommend visits during the week; weekends will always be busy and more crowded.

Biking Trails
Power Line Trail: Powerline Trail runs along with the eastern city limits of South Lake Tahoe through the El Dorado National Forest in a north-south direction. There’s a maze of crisscrossing trails in this area but Powerline is easy to follow as it traces along a fairly level elevation contour at the base of Heavenly Ski Area on the left ( east) with the neighborhoods along Pioneer Trail (road) to the right (west). Fir and pine forests provide plenty of shade and the only technical challenges are a couple creek crossings.
Trail Head: Take Ski Run Blvd. to the top and tum right onto Saddle Road. Trail head is at the end.
Length: 3 .5 miles Singletrack
Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Corral Loop: This highly-trafficked loop is reminiscent of a small-operation ski resort – there is
something for all levels of downhill riders. One could easily spend the whole day shuttling this route, warming up on greens, careening down blues, and bombing blacks. You can ride this by itself for a short ride after climbing or shuttling up the road, or link it up with the connector trail and some other options. Banked turns, some rocky sections, and some built up ( optional) kickers at the bottom. Super fun!
Trail Head: From Meyers, take Highway 50 north and tum right onto Pioneer trail toward South
Lake Tahoe. After 0.8 miles, tum right onto Oneidas Street. Oneidas ends at an opened Forest Road gate and turns into a rough, single-lane road, known as Fountain Place Road. Follow Fountain Place Road to the large dirt parking lot on the left, before the pavement curves right and starts its two-mile ascent to the Corral trailhead.
Length: 4.9 miles without shuttle, 2.9 miles with shuttle. Single Track
Level: Intermediate/ Advanced
Mr. Toads Wild Ride: Mr. Toads Wild Ride is one of Lake Tahoe’s Premier technical rides. This ride is a local favorite! It is one of the finest downhills in the Lake Tahoe region as well. It is a somewhat difficult one with over 3200′ vertical feet of climbing involved, but once you get to the top it is all downhill! The descent from Tucker flat is a technical test piece followed by some fantastic single track riding down the Saxon Creek drainage. The trail combines expansive views, meadows, and forests into one special ride.
Trail Head: There are several routes, but for the easiest one we suggest starting at Big Meadow parking lot or you can ride up Upper Truckee Rd. until you come to the Big Meadow parking area where you will look for a fire road at the east end. The fire road will take you to the Tahoe Rim trail where you will tum right and start climbing. Once you start descending the trial will come to Tucker Flat where you will see a trail sign for Saxon Creek. This is where your adventure on Toad’s Wild Ride begins
Length: 20 miles Singletrack.
Level: Advanced
Bicycling
